    Day1: Arrive to Tripoli

   
 
 

                                                                                 Meet & assist at airport and transfer to hotel. Take a small tour in Tripoli city, dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
 

 

 
 
 

    Day2: Tripoli - Sebratha - Tripoli

 
 
 
   
 

                                                                  Today we start our tour in Tripoli to visit the remarkable Jamahiriya Museum, which contains important finds of sculpture from the many Roman sites in Libya. Walk through the Medina, seeing the mosques and merchants’ houses, and the famous arch of Marcus Aurelius. Then we travel an hour west of Tripoli to Sebratha, lunch will be taken in Sebratha. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site considered among the finest ruins in coastal northern Africa. Sebratha was selected as an Emporium, or trading post, by the Phoenician merchant Sebratha holds one of the magnificent and interesting Roman theatre and one of the most splendid mosaics of the Byzantine period. We will also visit the Roman Museum here, featuring well-preserved mosaics, frescoes, and other relics unearthed at the site. Back to Tripoli,  Dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 

 

 

 

 
   
 
 

    Day3: Tripoli -Qasr Al-Haj - Nalut - Ghadames

 
 
 
 

                                                               Have a breakfast then departure to the west through the Nafusa Mountain, stopping in Qasr- Al-haj, we see Libya's best examples of Berber architecture, including a fortified circular granary. Further along we stop for lunch in Nalut, another showcase of Berber design. This evening we reach Ghadames, dinner & residence in the hotel.

 
 
   
 
 

     Day4: Ghadames

 
 
 
 

                                                             Ghadames it is a unique and splendid example of  Sahara architecture. Full day visit oasis town begins at the local museum, followed by a walking tour of the well-preserved old city, with its white-washed houses, connected rooftops, and covered alleyways all designed to protect inhabitants from the intense desert heat and blowing sands, dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel

 
 
   
 
 

     Day5: Ghadames – Kabaw – Gharyan - Tripoli

 
 
 
 

                                                                On the return trip to Tripoli today we encounter more Berber culture, first at the town of Kabaw, set amidst rolling hills and home to numerous shepherds and their flocks, then at Gharyan, set high on a bluff overlooking the coastal plain.     We reach Tripoli late this evening, dinner in         a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
 

 

 
 
 

    Day6: Tripoli – Sultan – Benghazi

 
 
 
 

                                                              Early this morning, a long drive takes us to Benghazi. We pass by excursion to stop in Sultan, visit the Sultan's museum which contains important finds. Lunch will be taken en route, continue to Benghazi. Dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
 

 

 
 
 

     Day7: Benghazi - Tokra - Tolmeita - Al-bayda

 
 
 
     
 

                                                                After breakfast, we board a flight to Benghazi.    A drive east takes us to Green Montian. We pass by Tauchera (Tokra), one of the 5 cities built during the Greek period. We visit the Greco-Roman ruins of Ptolemais (Tolmeita), dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. Our visit starts with the museum, which hosts some of Ptolemais monuments, such as the four-season mosaic and the fountain of the eight dancing Menadi. You'll also see the remains of the Arch of Constantine, 311-312 AD, and the columns palace, the most famous building in Ptolemais dating back between the 2nd and 1st century BC. Continue to           Al-bayda, dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
 

 

 
 
 

    Day8: Al-bayda - Cyrene - Apollonia

 
 
 
 
 
 

                                                                After breakfast, we drive to Cyrene, where we  spend all day discovering the splendid Greek ruins at Cyrene, founded in 631 BC and by the 4th century BC the world's preeminent Greek city. Today a UNESCO World Heritage site and a highlight of any visit to Libya, Cyrene boasts an unparalleled mountaintop setting overlooking the sea and surrounded by forests of evergreen.     We explore the Temple of Zeus, larger than Athens' Parthenon, the Necropolis, carved into the hillside, and the museum. Continue to Apollonia, have a dinner & residence in the hotel.

 

 

 
 

 

 
 
 

    Day9: Ras El-Helal - Derna - Apollonia

 
 
 
 
 
 

                                                                Visit the ancient city port of Apollonia, the ruins of the ancient Greek city port of Apollonia, stretching along a narrow strip of coastline. Believed to have been a working port as far back as the 7th century BC, Apollonia features five churches, Roman baths, the Byzantine Duke's Palace, homes, a theater, and more. we drive    to Ras El-Hellal, enjoy witness the two famous Hellenistic churches at Lathroun. Continues after lunch to Derna. Back to Apollonia, Dinner & residence.

 
 
 

 

 
 
 

     Day10: Apollonia – Solnta – Qasr-Libya - Ben

 
 
 
 

                                                                Benghazi via the eerie funerary temple at Solnta and the fine Byzantine mosaics at Qasr-Libya, which was first laid in AD 529-40, with its unique collection of mosaics. Return to Benghazi, dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 

 
 
 

 

 
 
 

     Day11: Benghazi

 
 
 
 

                                                               After breakfast, we start visiting Benghazi city. Benghazi and embark on a tour of Libya's second largest city. We visit the traditional old city, and the covered market of the souk area where artisans and trade smiths ply their wares.         We have enough time for shopping in the city.     Have a dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
     
 
 

     Day12: Benghazi - Tripoli

 
 
 
 

                                                               After breakfast, we drive to Tripoli by bus, lunch will be taken en route and continue to Tripoli.  Dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
 
 
 

    Day13: Tripoli - Leptis-Magna - Tripoli

   
 
 
 

                                                               Our bus will pick you up for a tour that shows  you the most interesting sights of Roman city.  Full day visit Leptis-Magna, Which was a major Roman port in North Africa, which grew rich from exports of olive oil and grain. It had public buildings commensurate with its importance, an impressive forum, Baths and triumphal arch.  These were protected through many centuries by a thick covering of sand. Nearby is the Villa-Silin, a large well-preserved building with extensive quality mosaics and frescoes. Later, we drive back to Tripoli, dinner in a local restaurant & residence in the hotel.

 
 
 

    Day14: Tripoli - departure

 
 
 
 

                                                                  After breakfast we take a small tour in Tripoli, or the museum depending on the schedule, later in the evening we transfer to Tripoli airport, departure to home destination.

  • Museums are closed on Mondays.
