After breakfast, take a tour in Tripoli
city,
Visit the remarkable Jamahiriya Museum, which contains
important finds of sculpture from the many Roman sites
in Libya. Later walk through the Medina, seeing the
mosques and merchants’ houses, and the famous arch of
Marcus Aurelius. In the evening, we transfer to Tripoli
airport, flight to Sebha,

Day3: Sebha - Sahara Lakes |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
After breakfast we will travel through Tekerkiba to start of our excursion in
the great sand sea visiting the lakes of
Sahara (Gaber-Oun, Maffo, Um-Elmaa,
Mandra). First day, we discover (Gaber-oun, Maffo), dinner and camping in
Sahara. |

Day4: Sahara Lakes – Germa |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
This day, we will discover the rest of
lakes (Um-Elmaa, Mandra) then continue
to Germa, Germa the ancient capital of
the Germantes, the first settlement was
founded in the 900 B.C, Visit museum and
ancient site of the Germantes
civilization. Have a dinner and camping
in Germa. |

Day5: Wadi-Matkhandush – Murzug |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
Drive to visit the world-wide famous
sites of Wadi-Matkhandush where
giraffes, huge elephants, rhinos, and
gazelles, are magnificently portrayed on
stone walls and inside caves. This
mysterious place is where the myths of
ancient hunters are recorded. Take a
lunch. After lunch, we drive to camping in
the Idhan-Murzuq sand dunes. |

Day6: Idhan-Murzuq – Wen-kasa |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
Further southwards, in the beautiful
sceneries of the Wen-kasa, one might
find remainders of flint and sandstone.
We will camp near the Emaning Well, an
ideal place to fresh up, or get a cool drink from the desert springs.

Day7 to 9: Akakus Tadrat region |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
Today we drive to Akakus region. The
Jebel- Akakus is made up of dark basalt
rock formations rising up from the
desert sands. You will have plenty of
time to explore the natural rock
formations as well as view the ancient
rock paintings and carvings. Located in
some of the sheltered wadis are
prehistoric rock paintings and carvings
dating back over 12,000 years. The rock
formations of Jebel-Akakus are very
unique and the area is a UNESCO World
Heritage listed site. Spend the next
three days exploring this fascinating
region and viewing some of the famous
prehistoric rock art for which this area
is renowned. We camp in Sahara. (Last
day we will continue to Al-awinat,
dinner & residence
in
Al-awinat
camp. |

Day10: Al-awinat - Ghat - Al-awinat - Sebha |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
Continue on to the city of Ghat, an
ancient desert trading town located in a
picturesque oasis. It is very well
preserved and is also one of the few
permanent Tuareg settlements in the
Sahara. You will have time to visit the
old city. Drive back to Al-awinat. Then
continue to Sebha. Dinner & residence in
Sebha
camp. |

Early this morning, we
Transfer
to Benghazi, by bus. It'll be a long
journey, lunch will be taken en route.
We reach Benghazi late this evening,
dinner
in a local
restaurant
& residence
in the
hotel. |

Day12:
Benghazi - Tokra - Tolmeita - Al-bayda |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
After breakfast, we board a flight to
Benghazi.
A drive east takes us to
Green Montian. We
pass by
Tauchera (Tokra), one of
the 5 cities built during the Greek period. We
visit the Greco-Roman ruins of Ptolemais (Tolmeita),
dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. Our visit starts
with the museum, which hosts some of Ptolemais
monuments, such as the four-season mosaic and the
fountain of the eight dancing Menadi. You'll also see
the remains of the Arch of Constantine, 311-312 AD, and
the columns palace, the most famous building in Ptolemais dating back between the 2nd and 1st century
BC. Continue to Al-bayda,
dinner
in a local

Day13:
Al-bayda - Cyrene - Apollonia |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
After breakfast, we drive to Cyrene,
where we spend all day discovering the
splendid Greek ruins at Cyrene, founded
in 631 BC and by the 4th century BC the
world's preeminent Greek city. Today a
UNESCO World Heritage site and a
highlight of any visit to Libya, Cyrene
boasts an unparalleled mountaintop
setting overlooking the sea and
surrounded by forests of evergreen.
We
explore the Temple of Zeus, larger than
Athens' Parthenon, the Necropolis,
carved into the hillside, and the
museum. Continue to Apollonia, have a dinner
& residence
in the
hotel. |

Day14:
Apollonia - Solnta - Qasr-Libya – Ben |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
Visit the ancient city-port of Apollonia,
the ruins of
the ancient Greek city port of
Apollonia,
stretching along a narrow strip of
coastline. Believed to have been a
working port as far back as the 7th
century BC, Apollonia
features five churches, Roman baths, the
Byzantine Duke's Palace, homes, a
theater, and more. Our touring continues
after lunch to Benghazi via the
eerie funerary temple at Solnta and the
fine Byzantine mosaics at Qasr-Libya,
which was first laid in AD 529-40, with
its unique collection of mosaics. Return
to Benghazi, dinner & residence. |

After breakfast, we start
visiting Benghazi city. Benghazi and
embark on a tour of Libya's second
largest city. We visit the traditional
old city, and the covered market of the
souk area where artisans and trade
smiths ply their wares. We have
enough time for shopping in the city.

After breakfast, we have
a time for
shopping
in the old city souk,
or
visit the remarkable Jamahiriya Museum,
which contains important finds of
sculpture from the many Roman sites in
Libya, Walk through the Medina, seeing
the mosques and merchants’ houses, and
the famous arch of Marcus Aurelius.
Depending on the schedule,
later we transfer to
Tripoli
airport and departure to home
destination. |
